#NYC - Chatty, cross-eyed, and devoted, River is a puppy in a catsuit! Originally rescued from a Philadelphia shelter, River has made NYC her new home. She adores hanging out with her human caretakers and will greet her foster mom at the door every evening. River loves to chase her favorite toys before sprawling in a sunspot for a well-deserved nap. She enjoys high energy play, so she'd do best in an adult home. We think young kids may overstimulate her.
River does not like other cats and wants to be your one and only! She may be OK with a dog who lets her be the boss of the household.
River is 2 years old, spayed, vaccinated, FIV and FeLV negative, and microchipped. Please email BrooklynBridgeAnimals@yahoo.com to arrange a play date in her West Village foster home. ... See MoreSee Less

#Brooklyn - Mrs. Wiggles is a friendly 3-year-old tortie eager to show you affection. When a known friend arrives she will rub her face on everything around, spreading good vibe pheromones. This may include your legs and she hopes you reward her with pets. She also loves to be brushed! She enjoys chasing her spring toy, sitting in any kind of box and sunbathing. However, she does not like to be picked up.
Mrs. Wiggles was found very pregnant and living in an autobody shop. The autobody shop was about to permanently close so rescuers took her in after getting her spayed. She is very cautious with new people, but once you gain her trust she will want to be close to you at all times. She is quite content as a single cat, but may get along with other cats with a gradual introduction. Mrs. Wiggles is spayed, up to date on vaccinations and FIV/FeLV negative. To meet Mrs. Wiggles in her Ditmas Park, Brooklyn foster home, please email email@example.com. ... See MoreSee Less

#Brooklyn - Foster or Adopter Needed! We're all just a little obsessed with sweet Alaska.
This petite and super chatty young lady was found in a Bedstuy backyard and was overjoyed when we invited her inside. Alaska is insanely affectionate - she headbutts like a fool and purrs nonstop. She is very playful and can keep herself entertained for hours. Alaska is curious and loves to explore.
Alaska enjoys attention - if possible all to herself. Her fosters report that she is constantly following them around from room to room, always patting behind them to stay close. She would prefer being an only cat, but is used to other cats so could be flexible.
Alaska is under a year old, spayed, FeLV/FIV negative and current on vaccinations. Kit....sweet, lovable, goofy Kit. Kit is a gorgeous (almost) 2 year old male orange and white tabby who was raised from a young kitten by a woman who adored him. Unfortunately, she and her mother had to move and Kit wasn't able to move with them.
Kit is a big guy and is as snuggly as he is playful. He's a huge fan of his squishy ball and any kind of string toy. His foster mom, who has been around cats her entire life, often finds herself looking at him, shaking her head and declaring, Kit is such a GREAT cat! When you get home, he'll greet you at the door and roll over to allow you to give him a big belly scratch. When you pick him up, he'll snuggle in and give you a big hug. He definitely wants to be your only cat, and is fearful of young children. He is neutered, tested negative for FIV/FeLV and up to date on all his vaccinations. In order to meet Kit at his foster home, please contact Brooklynbridgeanimals@yahoo.com ... See MoreSee Less
Don't underestimate a blind cat! Pinenut lost her eyes to an infection when she was a stray kitten on the streets of Brooklyn, yet is immensely agile, moving confidently around her home, adventurously climbing and exploring with grace and ease, and running with great athleticism and stamina. She is sweet and affectionate, with silky fur that she loves to have stroked while she snuggles and purrs in your arms. She gets along wonderfully with other cats and would do best with a cat companion. Email email@example.com to meet Pinenut in her Brooklyn Heights foster home. ... See MoreSee Less

Help us repair Nicholas's life after a savage beating left him nearly dead. Donate to his medical fund goo.gl/I4cf06. This beautiful, sweet boy was savagely beaten on the street and left to die until he was rescued weeks later. Damage to his pelvis has narrowed his colon. Good vet care and a quality diet has helped but he can get dangerously constipated which requires frequent trips to the veterinarian. Your donation will help us cover Nicholas's ongoing medical costs so that we can help him to live a normal life again and increase his chances for adoption. squareup.com/market/…/item/support-nicholas-recovery ... Templeton is an adorable brown Tabby kitten whom we think MUST have some Siamese in his background because he is adorably cross-eyed! He also has a tiny high pitched mew. #Brooklyn - Adopt or Foster Blind Pugsley! Friendly, fearless, and chatty, Pugsley had a scary start as a rescue cat. He was dumped next to a busy Philadelphia intersection. Thankfully, a kind person pulled over and brought him to their city shelter – and then we brought him to Brooklyn!
Pugsley was born blind, and like most blind cats, he has learned to compensate for his lack of vision. He’s a cheerful fellow, and he adores people. He’ll happily greet his caretakers at the door, and quietly meow until he gets a good head scratch. Pugsley adores belly rubs, jingle balls, and he loves a vigorous brushing. He’s good with other friendly cats too!
Blind cats require very little special care. They do best in an adult only uncluttered home with no stairs, and appreciate a roomy litter box.
Pugsley is 2 to 3 years old. He is overweight and needs a quality wet food diet to help him lose the unwanted pounds. He is neutered, vaccinated, FIV/FeLV negative, and microchipped. Please email BrooklynBridgeAnimals@yahoo.com to arrange a play date in his Windsor Terrace foster home. ... See MoreSee Less
#Brooklyn - Melody is a lovely tuxedo kitten with big soft eyes, white paws and an adorable white tip on her tail. She is happiest being petted and held or chasing a toy. She adores humans and dogs, and cats in reasonable numbers (she's a bit overwhelmed among the large cat population at the Brooklyn Cat Cafe).
Melody is now seven months old, is spayed, vaccinated, negative for FIV/FeLV and microchipped. She had nasal polyps when rescued which were surgically removed, and is now completely healthy. She's full of energy and playful and would do well with another friendly cat or two, or a dog, but she'd also be fine as a single kitten in a home if she received enough love and attention. Please drop by the Brooklyn Cat Cafe (catcafebk.com) if you'd like to meet sweet Melody. She's usually found on a back chair, ready to snuggle with visitors. ... See MoreSee Less
#Brooklyn - Paula is an adorable cat with a great sense of humor. She is the perfect balance of independent and interactive. Her current family fell in love with her because she does summersaults and likes to show off her belly. She gets along well with dogs (she's always lived with one) and she tolerates children.
She purrs loudly when she sleeps which makes for great white noise. She was rescued from the mean streets of LA when she was about 2 (her owners had simply left her in the streets). She was initially very shy and kept to herself but over the last 9 years she has evolved into an affectionate companion but not too affectionate, she also likes her independence. Paula currently lives with another cat Isis (also listed for adoption), a dog and a 4 yr old boy and would do well with or without other animals. She's a fairly low-maintenance cat and has no significant behavioral problems. She's in good health, negative for FIV/FeLV, spayed and up-to-date on all vaccines.
Her family is moving and cannot take Paula with them. Please contact Brooklynbridgeanimals@yahoo.com if you can offer her a loving longterm foster or adoptive home. ... See MoreSee Less
